In our pursuit of optimal mental health, exploring innovative approaches can lead to remarkable breakthroughs. One such avenue gaining attention is the use of oxygenation therapy. At The Smart Fit Method, we use a LiveO2 machine in combination with the CAR.O.L. bike for this. By enhancing the body’s oxygen supply, LiveO2 is believed to have a positive impact on cognitive function and mental well-being.
Oxygen is crucial for proper brain function; it provides the capacity to metabolize “fuel,” a.k.a. food and drinks. Research shows that the supply of highly concentrated oxygen positively affects cognitive performance for healthy young adults and for older adults (Kim J., et al).
LiveO2 in combination with cycling has produced improvements in cognitive flexibility, reaction time, psychomotor speed, executive function, processing speed, verbal memory, and composite memory plus a faster recovery process (LiveO2). This is achieved through simulating low and high altitude atmospheres while cycling (LiveO2).
These are some of the reasons we’ve chosen to use a LiveO2 machine in The Smart Fit Method. Our member feedback is another huge reason – we regularly get responses of people feeling good after a LiveO2-enhanced workout.
As mental health awareness month comes to an end, we want to highlight LiveO2 and the positive effects it can have on mental health. Try it out the next time you’re in studio! LiveO2 masks are complimentary with annual memberships and are available for purchase with month to month memberships.
